Andrea Fossa, Savona photographer, 1890s

Post by joetucciarone »

Does anyone know anything about Andrea Fossa, a photographer in Savona in the 1890s? He must have been good because he won a medal in Naples in 1890, an award at an exposition in 1897 in Savona and in 1914 he was awarded the title of "Knight of the Grand Cross of the Corona d'Italia".

I'm trying to figure out how a picture taken by Andrea could have ended up in a photo album owned by my great-great-grandparents, who were from Agnone, which is 450 miles from Savona.

Does anyone know if Andrea Fossa traveled across Italy, taking pictures in small villages?

Thanks,

Joe
