Help tracing GG Grandfathers birth certificate

Post by jackiemac3701 »

Hi

Can anyone help? I have traced my great great grandfather back to Bardi, Parma and he was born in 1872. He moved to Glasgow (around 1897) and was sent back to Italy (and was not allowed back to Scotland) after the first world war where he stayed until he died in 1942. Unfortunately his wife had to stay in Glasgow with 17 children and raise them alone although he sent all his money back for her (what a lovely story). I am trying to find out how to trace his birth certificate, his name was Franchesco Stomboli. Any help would be appreciated. :D :D

Thanks

Email the town and request a 'copia dell'originale' of his birth certificate.

The records from Bardi are also among those that have been scanned but not yet formally released via FamilySearch. You may still be able to get the microfilm for Nati 1867-1893.
