Looking for lost sibling..

Post by Mardi »

Need help once again. I am looking for my grandfather sibling: Brigida Calamusa, parents were Melchiorre [Marchione] Calamusa and Maria Caterina LoBello. Brigida Calamusa married Salvatore [Sam] Russo. The family was from Corleone, Province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy. I do not have any other information on her.

I believe that Brigida and Salvatore stayed in Corleone, they rest of the family came to the USA.

Any information on Brigida will be appreciated. Thank you.

Marty, thank you for your search, but already have Benedetta Calamusa. If it will help at all in finding her (Brigida) she married Salvatore [Sam] Russo. I do not have any information other then they stayed in Corleone. I truly appreciate your effort in searching.

I found the "R's" for the birth index for 1868 in Corleone, but no Russo's.

Not having much luck with the other siblings. Closest I found in 1884 was a Lucia Russo, daughter of Salvatore Russo and Brigitta Mannina (entry 582):

Marty, I believe you hit onto something. All this time I been searching for Brigitta Calamusa when in fact she is a Mannina. I also have Mannina's on my Family Tree.

I have both Bernardo [Benjamin] Russo and Angelo Russo listed and their date are same as what you have found......Mystery solved on Brigitta. Thank you so much for your time.....I can not express enough how much I appreciate what you have done....

Maybe now Brigida Mannina birth and parents can be found.

Marriage record for Salvatore Russo and Brigitta Mannina, January 26th 1867, entry #17:
p1 - https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2051639
p2 - https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2051639

Brigitta Mannina was 18 at the time of the marriage; parents are Martino Mannina and Giuseppa Lampo.

Marriage allegati begins at image 525:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2051639

There is a baptismal record (image 528) for January 21st 1849; if I'm reading this correctly, Brigita was born on January 14th.

Image 529 is a death record noting that Martino Mannina passed away March 1st 1866 at age 58; he was the son of Salvatore Mannina and Brigita Cammarata.

Image 527 opens a new mystery for Salvatore Russo....

Thank you VotM awesome find.....only thing I can not open any of the family search to view. Appreciate your help.

My concern now is how do I change Brigitta name to Mannina out of the Calamusa Tree with all her children attached.
