Here's a link for Inventario for Altamura in Bari:

What is it and is it of any genealogical benefit?
Inventario
Re: Inventario
I believe this is like an Index or Table of Contents for the location of civil registrations by town.
It lists the towns in alphabetical order and identifies the pages (from and to) in the record books, as well as the starting and ending years.
Later - more specifically by town, it lists the types of records (births, deaths, notifications, etc), identifying the envelope#, certificate #s and years.
This is an inventory of records in the Province, which includes all towns, not just Altamura.

Re: Inventario
Thank you. Not sure why an inventory for all towns would be listed under one town, Altamura. Still see no utility for it for myself.

It is listed under Bari Archives, not Altamurarp76226 wrote:Thank you. Not sure why an inventory for all towns would be listed under one town, Altamura. Still see no utility for it for myself.
