Caulonia cemetery directory

Post by lynnef »

Is there somewhere on line where I can find a list of cemeteries in Caulonia? I'd like to try and locate my ancestors' graves if possible. Thanks for any help you can provide. :)

There is usually only one cemetery unless the town is very large (like Rome). You might want to read the article on cemeteries on my website before beginning this search.

As I can see in Internet, there are at least 2 cemeteries in Caulonia, one in the old town on the hill, and one in the "Marina" (the new town by the sea). I guess the latter is more modern, so maybe you are interested only in the former.

I'd be interested in either one, Pippo...could you give the link where you found these? Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Lynne,
if you search "cimiteri caulonia" by Google, you'll find a lot of links, mentioning the one of "Caulonia Superiore" and the one of "Caulonia Marina". I also found something about the "Cimitero dei Carafa" in Caulonia, but I don't know if they properly mean a cemetery, or just the tombs of Carafa family in one of the others.
If you want to know something more (addresses, tombs..) you'll have to contact

Comune di Caulonia
Ufficio Urbanistica
Via Roma
89041 Caulonia RC

e-mail: urbanistica@comune.caulonia.rc.it

for info.
