Hi Norman,

Do you know where your grandfather came from in Italy?

Do you have his naturalization records?

Where did he settle in the USA? I saw a few in Pennsylvania and Illinois.

If you give us some more information, we'll be able to help you better with your research.

Please give us your grandmother's name?

Do you know Anthony's parents' names?

Anything you can tell us will be a big help.

Smile for me!:)

My grandfather is from Alta Villa Millicea (dont know the correct spelling). He was born in 1904 and came to the US in 1907-1908 His Fathers name was Nunzio and Mother's name Vita. They settled in Chicago.

We do have relatives in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and California.

My Grandmother, Anthony's wife, is Frances Sorce. She is still living with my Parents at the age of 93.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Norm,

Here is the correct spelling of the town....
Altavilla Milicia, Palermo, Sicily, Italy

The Family History Center does have microfilm for the town. The film costs about $5.75 a roll. Here is the link for the film numbers.

Hi again,

This might help some too. This is the death information for Vita. If you send away for her death certificate, you can find the names of her parents (if it was filled out properly) and the cemetery she is buried. Once you find the cemetery, call them and ask for the death information for Nunzio and then send for his death certificate.

Name - Sex/Race - Age - Cert # - Death Date - County City

LABRASCA, VITA - F/W - Y-69 - 0031882 - 1942-11-09 - COOK CHICAGO

Your welcome! :D

So the death info and draft cards are him?

I deleted the other manifest so it doesn't confuse anyone. Rose was Giacaomo's wife, your great granmother, then. What was her maiden name...do you know? :?:
