archivicomunali.lazio.beniculturali.it website?

Post by lyn1982 »

Does anyone know anything about this site?

I found this site which lists records from monte san giovanni campano (which I need records from). However I can't seem to find any link to these records on their site. Can anyone tell me if their is a link to the records they mentioned somewhere on their site? I translated the site on google translate but can't seem to find anything on how to access them. Or is this perhaps a new site and links will come later? Since it has "archivicomunali" in the url I would assume it definitely should have records somewhere. I do know familysearch has them if you go to one of their centers, but I'd much rather view from home if it is or will soon be possible.

There are no records or links on this site. It is simply an inventory of the records held in the town offices.
Family Search has digitized records held at the State Archives and Tribunals (not all) and in a very few cases also at the local town offices. Monte San Giovanni is not one of them so you are stuck with Family Search or writing to the town. They only have civil records back to 1870. Before that you need parish records

Thank you for the information. That is too bad on the records and lack of availability. At least things are improving though. There are much more records available online now then their were a decade ago.

The records are available you just have to write to the town offices for copies.
