Is Margherita's father deceased? Help

Post by DannaReLoprinzi »

Hi!

I am trying to decipher if Margherita's father, Nicasio Prinzi, is deceased, or not. I cannot tell if that says "Fu". If it does I cannot find his death record. So confusing.

Caccamo, Sicily, MORTE, Antenati, 1842, Image #20

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

it does say "del fu Nicasio". Also, it's missing the information about occupation and residency, which adds to the belief that Nicasio was dead at the time of this certificate.

Thank you!

Any suggestions on locating his death cert? I cannot find it in Caccamo. Would he have died in another town and Caccamo would not record it?

some comuni have a section called "atti diversi" (miscellaneous acts), where - among other things - those who died in a different comune would be recorded.
Looks like Caccamo has this section:

worth a try?

In this death act for Nicasio and Domenica's son Paolo in 1839, the father (Nicasio) is listed as living and residing in Caccamo.
