How Can this be True
How Can this be True
Calogero Puma, the son of Giuseppe Puma and Marianna Pantalone, had multiple marriages.
In 1889, he married Carmela Scime at age 26. Record # 42:

19 years later, in 1908, he married Gioachino Pino at age 24. He should have been age 45. Record # 8:

Re: How Can this be True
One more piece of the puzzle. I have an 1880 birth record for Calogero Puma, same parents, with a side note regarding his 1905 (mistakenly said 1908 in my original post) marriage:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1946817
Makes me think, there must have been an older Calogero Puma, but that normally happens when the first one dies young, which is not the case here.
That implies he would have been 9 years old in the 1889 marriage which is impossible. Again implying an older Calogero Puma from the same parents existed. If true, the older one, based on age and marriage in 1889 would have been live when the younger one was born.

I realize I'm not answering your question, but it must be Gioachina, not Gioachino?rp76226 wrote: ↑19 Dec 2020, 00:36 Calogero Puma, the son of Giuseppe Puma and Marianna Pantalone, had multiple marriages.

Different people with the same name and same parents' names?
Do you have the birth record of the one married first born ca. 1863? Looks like 1862 is missing and I didn't see him in 1863/1864. I'd suggest looking for separate marriages with the parents' names separated by about 15 years.

No. I've been searching for it without any luck so far. Racalmuto has no birth records for 1861 nor 1862. If he's there, I'm out of luck.
Re: How Can this be True
The first Calogero seems to have followed the naming tradition for his children...
1890 - Marianna (#413)
1892 - Giuseppe (#9)

1893 - Teresa (#515)
1895 - another Teresa (#268)

The second Calogero had two children that I am aware of - a boy and a girl, each named after Calogero's parents, so he followed tradition also.

The first declarant on the above death act, Giuseppe Puma, appears to be the brother of the deceased Calogero. Giuseppe is age 43 on the record, so born about 1867.
Here is a birth act in 1867 for Giuseppe Puma, son of Giuseppe di Puma (age 39) and Marianna Restivo Pantalone, age 26.

Thank you. I was aware of Giuseppe's existence but did not have an exact date of birth.

Anche la mia bisnonna si chiama Puma e di nome Francesca, ma non credo sia nel tuo stesso ramo.
Comunque conosco un amico in USA che sa tutto sui Puma.
