ARGENTINE SHIP RECORDS HELP NEEDED!!

Post by trevisan2 »

Does anyone know of Ship records of immigrants who went from Italy to Argentina.
I am looking for a URIA VENDRAME ancestor that left Genoa Italy around 1900 and sailed to Buenos Aries.
Any help from you seasoned members would be appreciated.

Uria Vendrame was born June 6, 1872 in Cimeta, Treviso, Italy.
His Father was Girolamo Vendrame
and His mother was Regina Zanetti

Uria was married 2 June 1892 in Buenos Aries I believe.

Also, his Surname may have been changed upon arrival to Argentina to Bendrame.
thanks

Hi Trevisan, probable Uria was in travel with some other parents or firend, why no records for Girolamo and Regina Zanetti.. about the Uria age probable that the trascription of ship's manifest are mistaken ...

A Uria Vendrame left Genoa aboard the ship Napoli on March 30, 1886, bound for Buenos Aires. What's interesting is it shows his age to be 11 years old and his profession was that of a shoemaker. Maybe there's an error in the record; it's hard to say. There were a number of Vendrames who went to Argentina on different ships over about a 15 year period.

Hope this helps, ... Jay

I have been in contact with Esteban . . . we are third cousins . . . its amazing that we could meet here at the Italian genealogy web site. THANK YOU!
More so, I am able to provide to the Vendrame or Bendrame's of Argentina off of the birth information. . . . FOR FREE . . . they need on their grand grand fathers so that they can work towards their dual citizenship in Italy.

If you happen to be in Italy, the birth certifices are free at the city hall level. while in Argentina, It could be 1000's of dollars.

This is what this Italian Genealogy web site is all about, people helping people find their ROOTS.

I have been in contact with Esteban Bendrame, both by phone and mail in Argentina.
Recently, I sent him a copy the Vendrame ancestry . . . dating back to the 1600's.
Your Uria was a brother to my great grand Father Luigi Geremia Vendrame, also born in Cimetta, Codogne, TV, Italy

I would welcome contact from you. Please contact me at the following address:

wenumapu called me from Italy today . . . somehow she did not get the messages that I had sent back in August.
We both share the common ancestor Girolamo Vendrame of Cimetta, Codogne, Treviso, Italy. Her great grandfather Uria went to Argentina in 1886, and my grandmother Regina Vendrame came to the United States in 1916. Regina's father Luigi Geremia Vendrame and Uria were brothers.

Speaking with her today on the phone and hearing her voice and inner spirit will remain with me the rest of my life.

WOW, how nice it is to meet yet another cousin here on this Italian genealogy web site.
