RE: NYC DEATH RECORD RESEARCH INFORMATION
CURIOUS. I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR MY PATERNAL GRANDMOTHERS ADOPTIVE FATHER'S DEATH RECORD FOR OVER 20 YEARS NOW. BACKGROUND. FRANCESCO LANDINO WAS BORN IN PALERMO IN 1851, AT SOME POINT HE MOVED TO BARCELLONA PG MESSINA, AND APPARENTLY BEGAN A COMMON LAW MARRIAGE -NO MARRIAGE EVER OCCURRED-TO MARIA BONARRIGO BORN IN GUALTIERI MESSINA IN 1847. THEY HAD 3 CHILDREN, ALL BORN IN BARCELLONA. SALVATORE IN 1872, ROSALIA IN 1877, MATTIA IN 1880. MARIA BONARRIGO WETNURSED MY GRANDMOTHER, MARIA COSTANTE, BORN IN 1883 IN BARCELLONA. DIFFERENT SURNAME AS SHE WAS IGNOTI GENITORI AND MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN A NATURAL CHILD OF THIS COUPLE. ANYWAY, FRANCESCO WAS A VIRTUAL ABSCENSE IN THIS FAMILY, AS HE LEFT ALONE FOR AMERICA IN 1888. FOUND HIM IN BOSTON CA. 1902-1904. IN BOSTON IN THE 1910 CENSUS UNDER FRANK SANDINO (SPELLING ERROR IN L LOOKING LIKE S) AND IN FITCHBURG MASS, IN 1912. THEN HE DISSAPPEARS. NOTHING MORE IN MASS. HIS COMMON ;LAW WIFE MARIA HAD IMMIGRATED TO BOSTON IN 1902 WITH HER POSSIBLE ADOPTIVE DAUGHTER, MY GRANDMOTHER,MARIA,BUT DIED DAYS AFTER ARRIVAL. FRANCESCO HAD A SON,SALVATORE,ALSO KNOWN AS CHARLES,WHO HAD BEEN LIVING IN BOSTON IN 1902,AND HAD BEEN THE REASON MARIA BONARRIGO AND MY GRANDMOTHER IMMIGRATED TO BOSTON. SALVATORE MOVED TO NEW YORK SHORTLY AFTERWARDS,AS HIS WIFE CATHERINES FAMILY WAS THERE. OTHER THAN RETURNING TO ITALY,WHICH IS UNLIKELY,AS FRANCESCO WAS NATURALIZED IN BOSTON IN 1902,ITS POSSIBLE HE MOVED TO NEW YORK,AS I BELIEVE HIS SON SALVATORE WAS THE ONLY KNOWN RELATIVE HE SEEMS TO HAVE HAD IN THE U.S. NO IDEA ABOUT DAUGHTERS ROSALIA OR MATTIA. I SEE THERE WAS A FRANCESCO LENDINO-POSSIBLY A VERSION OF LANDINO-IN NEW YORK THAT MARRIED A GIUSEPPINA VIEDURO THERE IN 1913. HE DIED IN 1931. AGE IS CLOSE. THIS FRANK BORN CA. 1855 AND MY FRANK IN 1851. 4 YEARS BUT THIS ISN'T UNCOMMON AS RARELY DO AGES GIVEN AT MARRIAGE OR DEATH MATCH THE BIRTH. SEEN THIS MANY TIMES. THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE HIM BUT THE ACTUAL MARRIAGE OR DEATH RECORD,WHICH MIGHT REVEAL THE INFORMATION TO MATCH WHAT I HAVE,AREN'T AVAILABLE ON THE ITALGEN SITE. NO POINT IN ORDERING EITHER RECORD UNLESS I KNEW IT CONTAINED INFORMATION PROVING THE 2 ARE ONE AND THE SAME. IS THERE ANY POSSIBLE WAY TO FIND THIS INFORMATION OTHER THAN ACTUALLY BEING ABLE TO VIEW THE MARRIAGE AND DEATH RECORDS ?. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WELCOME.
Re: RE: NYC DEATH RECORD RESEARCH INFORMATION
If this is the Frank Lendino you referenced, it gives his father as Francesco. But no other information in this index.

Re: RE: NYC DEATH RECORD RESEARCH INFORMATION
i checked the same source at family search. the francesco lendino whom i thought might be my francesco landino isn't the same. my francesco landino's parents were salvatore and rosalia mancuso,not the ones mentioned at family search for francesco lendino. 2 different people. i have the death record for salvatore aka charles landino who died in new york in 1937. this is my francesco's son.i also have the 1884 new york death of francesco's father salvatore.the fathes death in 1884 and thesons death in 1937-but no francesco. can't find this man's death anywhere. just thought that the francesco lendino from new york, born around the same time as my francesco,might have been a match,due to close birth years and name spellings. it wasn't a match.

Re: RE: NYC DEATH RECORD RESEARCH INFORMATION
Perhaps some insight is to be gained from additional information:
- The marriage record of Charles/Salvatore and Catherine Caldara;
- A link to the 1884 death (or at least the indexed spelling of his name) of Salvatore that you mention
