Di Battista

Looking for info and relatives of my father's family. His name was Joseph Domenic Di Battista, changed to Batista upon immigration. His parents were Domenico and Pasquelina Caniglia Di Battista. He was born 9/11/09 in Roccaraso. He was baptized at St. Barbara's Church. He, his parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers came to the US in early 1900. After his parents died the children were raised in an orphanage in Pennsylvania. When they immigrated to the US all contact was lost with relatives. Have checked Ellis Island ship records and have found 3 possibilities, the San Giorgio, the Italia, and the Barbarossa. Have only recently acquired this information and would love to find relatives in Italy. Thank you for any help.

There are 17 surnamed persons in that town, why not write them a letter with the information you have.....nothing to lose, and you may end up with long lost family!!!

Thank you for all your help and suggestions. It was so exciting to actually find our grandmother, father, and his sister on the ships manifest. Also, our father was in the records from the orphanage. We had been told all records had been detroyed in a fire, so that had been a dead end. But, thanks to all of you we are finding information. All your input is greatly appreciated and will let you know how it goes.
