OH WOW. I have the obits for the first portion of the reply but I do not have this other info.Well it leaves me to wonder where Angelo Carani fits in?
Unless perhaps Rose was born in the states and Tarquines' middle or first name might be Angelo.
I came up with the name Angelo from a Kenneth Angelo Carani who said in a post on another site (I think Ancestry.com) that Marie and his father Angelo were brother and sister.
Thank you soooo much.
Laura
edit 2nd time to say:
I see Angelo in this list of children.

Just had to say hi to a fellow Peorian..... :D
Some ice/snow storm we had....still waiting on the snow plows to come thru here......
Have you been to the Peoria Public Library downtown? They have paid databases you can access for free in the genealogy department, and tons of resources. I have always found the librarian to be very helpful!!

I don't think this last post would be the one. Dates and names don't seem to fit.
Also The Angelo that this fellow was talking about would have been born in 1908 in Italy. So not the father.Perhaps a brother (with quite an age span) he named a child (the 10 year old) after????

Laura, not sure where your Angelo 1908 fits in.
Angelo, Marie's brother would have been born abt 1920.

If Tarquino had a brother, one of the brother's sons
would probably be named after (the son's grandfather)
Angelo in Italy.

Could be. I appreciate all your help.
That site on the naming traditions is something I didn't know about. I book marked it

My daughters name is Tammie Stutler. She is Marie Helen (Carani) Stutlers grandaughter.
She was on with me earlier on Yahoo IM. She is excited about this.

Raised in the southend, but moved many, many years ago, before it started to get bad. Live across the river now in Washington.

Here is a link to the library, they have a great collection.......
http://www.peoriapubliclibrary.org/index.php?section=25

This helped me in the beginning of my searches.......
http://www.graonline.com/cgi-bin/gra/do ... gratrailer

it can be overwhelming, but start with what you know and working one person at a time, collect vital records such as birth, marriage and death, each document you get reveals more clues. Obituaries, census records,
ship manifest, church records, cemetery, naturalization records....will give you further clues in your search.

ItalianGenealogy has a great team of researchers here....they can find just about anyone!!!

Laura,
You're very welcome.
It may take some time for you to absorb some of the records we've found - the handwriting can be tough to read.
Do you want any more records if we find them?
Anything in particular?
