Re: Ruffino History
Hello, would you happen to know the town of origin? If not you could post your immigrant Ruffino ancestor's information and we might be able to determine that for you.
Thanks!

Hi Alicia,
If you want to trace the family, the LDS church (Mormons) has filmed both the civil records (birth, marriage, & death acts) & the church records (sacraments) for the town of Randazzo.
Here are the available films.
Civil (1820-1929)
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... ato+civile++
Church.....There are records for three.

A guide to obtaining these films.

To locate your nearest LDS-Family History Center.

And to help with translating the records:
Italian-English genealogical word list.
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/ ... Italia.ASP
Latin-English
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/ ... LLatin.ASP
If you prefer to write for the records, here is the address for the city hall.
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Address: Piazza Municipio, 10
95036 Randazzo (CT)
ITALY
Requests should be in Italian & include a self addressed return envelope, a copy of your photo ID and an international reply coupon(IRC). The IRC covers the cost of the return postage & can be obtained at your post office.
Form letter that will translate your request into Italian.

Re: Ruffino History
This is what I found about Ruffini
RUFFINI
I hope it helps, bye Riccardo
