Re: cocnome "galiberti" mio bisnonno è emigrato
Ah, vuoi l'origine del tuo cognome?
Well you need of surname origin?
per certo il cognome Galiberti proviene dal nome germanico Waliberht
sure the Galiberti surname coming from Waliberht Germany first name
(walah = straniero/foreign + berht = brillante/shining),
ciao, suanj

Re: cocnome "galiberti" mio bisnonno è emigrato
I see...but why is my family's name coming up here...I'd be willing to help if someone could tell me why or how my family is involved...
Re: cocnome "galiberti" mio bisnonno è emigrato
This is a Genealogy forum.
Posters ask for help in locating public records of their ancestors in order to trace their roots, and some ask for help in locating their decsendants in hope that they can connect with lost family and further research into the history of the family. Either way, it is all a matter of public record.
This poster may be connected to your surname, and apparently does not have knowledge of the English language.

I already replied: the author topic saying that the greatgrandfather emigrated and no back never in italy, but the wife was already pregnant , and when the child born, because the father was in USA and no news (he abandoned the family most probably) to child had the mother surname and no the father surname, this child is the grandfather of author topic.. right? the child was son of Gaetano Di Francia, but no recognized because the father absent and silent.. he abandoned the family when stayed in USa as so much emigrants, and the child had only the mother surnameMDIFRANCIA wrote:I see...but why is my family's name coming up here...I'd be willing to help if someone could tell me why or how my family is involved...
we have found this records, and we cannot know more, because the author topic never replied, so we don't know if this search is right and if you and author topic are related as could be... a great family reunion in Italy.... maybe could be a idea....

Umm...Excuse me for not being as excited as the rest of you, but, if what you are saying is true...Either my father got someone pregnant when he was 7 years old (which is the age he emmigrated to the US)...OR...He got someone pregnant during WWII...Which would mean I have a half sibling out there that I would very much like to know about!!!

Re: cocnome "galiberti" mio bisnonno è emigrato
Oh yes...and let's not forget, that according to this post...My father had a WIFE in Italy...I sorta doubt any of this...Since it seems so highly unlikely...But still...I'd like to know!!!
Re: cocnome "galiberti" mio bisnonno è emigrato
ok, only the author topic can to say the truth, but I believe that you and he could be relatives... perhaps he don't know that on the topic it are the replies... regards, suanj
