italian's in egypt

Post by thecrazy1 »

hi all
i have been searching the national archive in england for my ancestors and i found an inquest from the british consulate. i found 2 names i need help with. the first is GARIBALDI FUSI the son in law of the deceased. so he married ??? MUSCAT (sorry dont know her first name) and the second one i am trying to find is EDGAR CARUANA (maybe italian or maltese) he married ELEANORA ???? both marriages took place between 1900 and 1910 in egypt. please can you tell me where i might find these records or obtain copies of the marriage certificates. are there any online records i can search

thanking you kindly

Sorry, i am assuming they married under British law/consul? If so, try this site.

hi thanks for your reply i have looked previously at that site and had trouble finding any of the marriages birth or deaths. i was assuming that if they married italian men then they would have been registered at the italian consulate. but am i right in thinking they may have been married under either nationality

kind regards

By any chance, were they an "army" family? Recently, one of the members here and I did a bit of research on some of her ancestors who were born in Eqypt and they were Bristish Subjects. It appears they were an army group..I need to find the website we used because it really helped us locate the marriage records.
