Prison Records

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Hi Last..

Just to make sure I understand..you're quoting Riccardos first comment, correct and thats not the email?? Am I right?

If so and you would like to attach an email or image here, then you can use any image hosting service like www.imageshack.com and place the link here. We can see what happens from there. If you have trouble attaching the document, let me know.

Here is the document that Last would like help with. Sorry its taken so long to link it.

Now, I've linked it two ways..I think the actual link is best so you can zoom in to read it better. He believes there is a notation on these army records that say his relative, Vincenzo Mirra was in prison.

Hopefully, someone can help translate or confirm?

Hi Chuck.
I've just seen this...but it's too late to really look into it now - it's 12.30 am here and I'm going to bed. But I will look tomorrow and give you a general resumè of the content. A full translation would be very time consuming.

Hope I can help.

Thank you so much. From what I have been able to translate it looks like my grandpa was in the military and for some reason he was put in prison. If he was, I would like to know why. Are there court records we could locate. I appreciate any help you can provide. Do you think he received any medals while in the military?
