Looking for the Panzone Family

Post by dollym »

I have been trying for years to find the Panzone family line in Italy. My Grandmother, Maria Guiseppia, my Great Uncle Rocco immigrated to the United States. My Grandmother and Great Uncle Rocco came over on the ship Roma from Naples to New York.
A cousin of mine got this information for me, it might help:
"Birth of Maria Giuseppia Panzone March 19,1881 The to sindare was Achille Baro n and Vincenzo Panzone, age 39, peasant appeared to him on the 22nd and confir med that his daughter was born at #26 Carso del la posta to his wife, Dorinda D' Agostino attesting: Angelantonio Graueuhia, 49, peasant, and of Antonio of Giaunte, 37, industriante. In English:Birth of Maria Giuseppia Panzone March 19.1881 The to sindare was Achille Card-sharper n and Vincenzo Panzone, age 39, peasant appeared to him on the 22nd and confir med that his daughter was born at #26 Carso of the mail to his
wife, Dorinda D' Augustin attesting: Angelantonio Graueuhia, 49, peasant, and of Antonio of Giaunte, 37, industriante". Thank you, Adeline

Adeline, Hello and Welcome to the Forum!
Is this the correct manifest?
1907 Roma
Last residence Bisenti (Teramo, Abruzzo)

Did you need any assistance with US records or are you primarily
interested in Italian records?

Italy Research Outline
This research outline from the LDS Family History Library may help
you get started on Italian records.

If you haven't been yet, your local Family History Center
may have your town's records in Italy on microfilm

It is generally recommended that you gather all the US records
that you can in order to assure yourself that you have the correct
family in Italy.

Please let us know what we can do to help.

The manifest I found on Ellis Island, so I hope it is correct, plus my grandmother used to tell us the story.

I am primarily trying to find out information regarding the Italian records both for my grandmother's side(Panzone) and grandfather's side(Leandri,Leandre)from Bascianello, he was named by the nuns who took him in and he told us that a family by the name of Genestre or Genestra took him in.

I am going to order the Films of Bisenti and Bascianello. My grandparents stayed in Pennsylvania they had their first son in Altoona after that they crossed the border into Canada. I have border crossing documents.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Adeline,

I just started my search... My grandmother's maiden name was (Mary)Panzone. She lived in PA. She married Frank "Ham" Jubon (Dzubon). So far that's all I have...Good luck with your search.
