Where to start? Looking for Agnone/Bianco from Quadrelle
Where to start? Looking for Agnone/Bianco from Quadrelle
Hi...I am new to all this and I am just getting started. Does anyone have any good tips for a beginner? I am searching for information on my father's side of the family. The only problem is that anyone with any information in my family has passed. The only info I have is that my great grandfather's name was John Agnone who married my great grandmother Elizabeth Bianco. They both came from Quadrelle Provincia di Avellino Regione Campania. Any help would be appreciated to start me on my journey.

Re: Where to start? Looking for Agnone/Bianco from Quadrell
I don't think he's the one misbris. If you look at the manifest there are actually 4 people traveling together, 2 children and the father and mother. The mothers name (or Giovannis wife's name) is Angela - per the manifest.
Question for Melanie
Were they married in Italy or did they meet and get married in the United States.
Maybe you could start with your dad - name, birth, place of birth, residence, living or not etc. And then your fathers parents (your grandparents) names, birth, place of birth, residence, living or not etc.
This info might help someone here find information on Giovanni and Elizabeth by back tracking.

Re: Where to start? Looking for Agnone/Bianco from Quadrell
I appreciate it Billie, and thank you misbris for trying
My great grandparents, from what we know, were married in the US
My father's name is William Richard Agnone, born May 29th, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio and currently lives in Canfield, Ohio
His parents were John and Evelyn Agnone, both deceased.
All there is left is my father and my uncle (and us kids, of course) and they never thought to ask any info on the family, he said his grandparents had already passed when he was little. So...the only information I can gather is their names. I bought a book from the local Italian grocery store that is called Italians of Youngstown, which says that my family was one of the first that settled in the Brier Hill area of Youngstown. In the back of this book it says that they came from Quadrelle (Avellino Province), so that was the only way we knew that info.
Thanks again for everything

Melanie -
Does Mahoning Ohio sound familiar at all? The 1920 census has Giovanni and Elizabeth listed. Birth for Elizabeth about 1871 and birth for Giovanni (John) about 1862.
Maybe someone with a subscription to ancestry.com can get the rest of the information if Melanie thinks this could be her great grand parents.
Hope this is a winner for you.

Billie...Youngstown is in Mahoning County, so that is probably them. The book I have says that he was born in 1863 and she was born in 1871. He came to the US in 1877 and she came over in 1880

Great Melanie!!!!!!
Looks like you're on the right track now. Biff is an expert at this, so I know you're in good hands.
Everyone here is very helpful and they do whatever they can to answer your questions. I'm still pretty new and I've had alot of help from everyone in trying to find my family.
Good luck and I'll keep an eye on your posts.
