The sky is falling!!! Naples has responded!!!

Post by jenalonso »

I have finally received an extract from Naples for the loooong-awaited birth info of my great-grandfather:

Image

Apparently his name was Nostrame at birth?? (still want to know origin of name since many have told me it's not Italian).

2 questions: Can someone please tell me what it looks like his mother's name was? Chezuhino??? Chezuhimo?? (Also doesn't sound Italian to me)??

And "alle ore 20.00" is time of birth?

Now how do I get the original documents? And should they have his parent's information on there?

Thank you all so much for your help! I'm so happy! :)
Searching for Nostrame, Mangiacapre, Cherubino, DiPascuale, Franco, Porto, D'Addona, DiLibero.

Yes his name was Nostrame, alle ore means - the hour of - 20 is equal to 8pm (I believe). His fathers name was Luca and his mothers name was Vincenza Chezutrino

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Have you tried the LDS films yet? That is the only way I could get the original that was recorded at the time of the birth. One of my cousins got the same thing as you, however, she wasn't lucky enough to get the parents name on the document they sent, only the childs name and year, month and day of birth.

Let me know if you've tried LDS yet.

I looked again. I think it's Cherubino or Cheruhino.

While this will not help in determining the name,
this link will help in reading the many common genealogy terms in Italian:

I'm so pleased you finally solved the puzzle of his surname and that Naples replied so quickly.

It seeems it was well worth the wait.
