While I'm waiting for all my citizenship documents to come, I might as well start looking up my relatives. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I have no idea how to go about doing this.... My family was from Vieste, Foggia and Acri, Calabria if that helps.
Thanks!

Here is a great free guide to Italian family research by the Later Day Saints.

Re: family in italy
I just came into contact with a Campaniello currently living in Rome. He told me his bisnonno was Vincenzo Campaniello and that he was pugliese. My bisnonno was Francisco Campaniello from Vieste, Foggia, so its very possible we are related. Are there any online resources to research this?

Hi David
To add to Poipuo's post here are the civil records for Vieste 1809 to 1899
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... i+Vieste+2++
nati=birth
morti=death
matrimoni=marriage
Find your nearest Family History Center (FHC) and go in to order your films. Takes about 4 weeks to receive and the cost per film as about $5.75 USD.
