I'm researching Francesco (Frank) Chimienti from Bari. Born June 7,
1865. Immigrated in 1885 to Manhattan, New York. His parents were
Giuseppe Chimienti and Anna Deliso.

You were too quick for me on the manifest post. Occupation is the same as the 1910 census but Matera is in the wrong province.

Located a passport for this Francesco Chimienti but will wait for verification on what we've found so far before posting.

Passport says he was naturalized in Chicago... so maybe there in 1900... I see a possibility for that one as well... knowing more about his children will definately help...

Yes, that's him in the 1910 census and as passenger on the Gottardo and him in the passport application dated 9/18/1921. And yes, looks like he was from Matera, next province over from Bari. Thanks

I believe that the immigration record abt Francesco Chimienti born in Matera, the passport record and the travel of 1922.. well maybe ...it could be not right abt your ancestor... also the birthdate is different...
