Mail in italy

Post by Conti832 »

I have sent two things in 20 days to Pofi and both never arrived.

Anybody know if mail is a problem in Italy.Remember my Aunt sending things that never were received as well.

The mail in Italy is not a problem, and when you send something as a regular mail, anything can happen.
I regularly receive mail everyday, also from aborad

Was it a letter or an item of some sort? If it was an item then it has to go through customs, and they can hold it for as long as they like.

Once I received a letter from California to northern Italy in 48 hours, and another time in a month.

very true, it is important to remember that it isn't the Italian post that is the problem. They are very efficient. I would say they were on par with the US post. From my experience, it took on average 10 days to receive a letter from the US, usually from NY. I would say, give it 30 days and if they didn't receive it then it was lost, either on the US side or the Italian.

I sent a very small christmas package of a brooch and it took about three months to arrive to Calabria. My letters get there in 10 days. Packages seem to take one month or more to arrive.
