These damned spammers!

Is it really possible that nothing can be done to rid this site of these intrusive spammers. No less than 17 at the moment!!!

I only ever see one person who I think is a 'bona fide' moderator actually clearing the boards of these posts.

Surely Italian Genealogy has more than ONE moderator? Though I can't find anywhere where moderators names are listed and to whom we can/should turn to for help. It also seems that any request for help to the administration falls on deaf ears too, as they are often ignored for months or even totally.

I really can't remember the last time I saw a name listed under the
"Staff Online" list on the r/h sidebar...

So who ARE the moderators here? Are they 'Staff' or aren't they? Who should be advised when things go awry or there is (yet another) SPAM invasion?

Well Nuccia is certainly the most active moderator, and from what I understand has had to carry more than her share of the weight. She works like 2-11AM and then sleeps. Let's not even go into the fact that she has her own forum and moderates on two others. Unfortunately this means the spammers sometime escape her attention right away.

You have to remember this is a free website, brought to us by the generosity of Edmondo. They will be cleared eventually, and the spammer banned. In the meantime I think we really shouldn't complain too much right?

Oh my..I see the spammers are at it again!

Edmondo has informed me that due to personal issues he will be unable to address this issue personally at this time so I am to do what is necessary to "clean up" the board. Unfortunately I only have limited access to certain areas at this time so I can not permanently bann members but I will be more then happy to remove the posts!

Sorry for the inconvenience, folks! We'll get this straightened out yet!

the China spammer are very invasive... they have not idea of human rights.... it is sad ... to understand... that it is.... again... a big difference between civil people and not civil people.

My apologies for the lack of "moderation and activity"...my intent was certainly not for Nuccia to bear the brunt of the spam activity.

After my daughter's strokes, it is only recently that I have had the energy
or time to pay attention to the board.

I removed several today and will be checking in more frequently.

My husband suffered a stroke this past year. Little ones since then. But it isn't the same. That it happens to one's child is more difficult to grasp.
