I am looking for my paternal GF, Pasquale Copasso b.March 1889 Marigliano.
Came to US in 1908, married my GM Anna Maria Cometot (Cometa) in 1912 Walston PA.
Died in Union City NJ in 1948.
I would like to know if anyone can help me find his roots in Marigliano.
I believe Pasquale mothers name was Raffaela Sommese and his fathers name might be Santo Copasso.
I believe there is a possibility that Pasquale's last name might be Capasso as I understand this surname is common in Marigliano.
I have been able to find his emigration record, it shows his name as Copasso, which was later shortened to Copas.
Does anyone out there have any connection to this surname?

It is more likely that the correct surname is in fact CAPASSO of the
town MARIGLIANO.
You can make a request to the town of origin for the birth record,
provide birthdate and the name of both parents. Keep in mind that
Italian women do not lose their surname, so use the maiden name of
the mother.

Frances Thomoson is the woman that my GF was "shacking up with" he left my GM Anna Maria Cometot (Cometa) sometime between 1925 and 1930 after all my Aunts and Uncles (including my father) were born.
Thank you,
Lou Copas

We all have those "skeletons" in the closet.....
I have found quite a few in my own family research.
I would also check out the Lds for microfilmed records.
Many Italian town have been filmed, and from this you can
research all deaths, births and marriages for the years
covered. A great resource if available.
