post 1925 manifest search

Post by MauroMags »

Hi there,

I'm looking for an additional manifest for my GGF Vincenzo Ghiberti who came to the US for a third time, sometime between 1925 & 1930.

v. Ghiberti first came in 1906
has first son born in the US in 1912
has second son born in the US in 1914
v. ghiberti goes back to Italy in 1914
Has first daughter in jan. 1920
v. ghiberti Comes back to US in mar. 1920

has third son in italy in 1923
has fourth son in italy in 1925

first son comes back to the us 1927
second son comes back to the us 1930

v. Ghiberti appears in the 1930 US census.

So obviously he returned to the US sometime between 1925 & 1930, but i've never found that third manifest.

Note - his last name is often misspelled to Ghiberto, Giliberti, cliberti.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It seems the boy declared he was travelling with his uncle at sheet 42/line 25 (Azzolini Sergio (age 51) and he was going to his address 106 Grand Street Hoboken to his uncle Luigi Turtur.....
So.... it's a little bit strange he didn't declared to joining his father Vincent.... 8O 8O 8O
Do you think it's possible that Vincent came back to USA between April 6 and April 15, 1930 ???? :?

Hi Laura,

all the documents you've posted are correct... and yes it is strange that he didn't declare he was joining his father.

Your guess about arriving between April 6 and April 15, 1930 is possible, in fact there were stories about his sons coming first. But I wish there was some documentation about v. ghiberti's third arrival to America. I'm sure it exists but probably misspelled and difficult to find.

thanks for your help,
Mauro
