See

http://en.comuni-italiani.it/066/108/index.html for Vittorito

You may write a letter to the Ufficio di Stato Civile to request birth certificates, the addresses are:

Ufficio di Stato Civile
Via Municipio, 1
67020 Acciano (AQ)

and

Ufficio di Stato Civile
Via Roma, 2
67030 Vittorito (AQ)Via Roma, 2

You may also find relatives currently residing in those towns in Aquila province, Abruzzo by going to www.paginebianche.it and putting inthe family surname in the first line and below that the name of the town and then click CERCA.

You do not say whether you can read or write inItalian but perhaps you still might benefit from the site http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... tters.html

You can also go to www. Tiscali.it for additonal information. =Peter=

The site suggested by Peter Timber proposes a number of letter in Italian that you may customize.

Another option is that you post here your letter in English and someone will translate it in Italian for you.
