Vincenzo Maida in America once before.

Post by Romano1970 »

Hi all, I was looking at the july 16 1916 Manifest that you guys have provided to me and I noticed while researching it Vincenzo Maida was in America between the years of 1909 to 1912 in Rochester NY (per the manifest question "Whether ever before in the United States") column 17 of the second page.

Would there be a manifest for that one??

Most likely 1909 or prior and Boston is closer to Rochester so he might have gone thru Boston if NYC doesn't have any record. =Peter=

you can also write to NARA washington DC in order to have his manifest of ship. there is a form you can order on line, it arrives at home address in 10 days, you fill it out, and in a month you have a response
sometimes there are not records on line
my nicholas bruno first trip was on 1904 (as he stated on 1921 trip)
I was not able to find it on line, so with the infos I had, I was able to fill out the form, and send it to NARA
Nicholas arrived at ellis island, and his manifest was not on line.
For sure you can pay using your credit card, it is worth
good luck

Dear Mike the form is NATF 81passenger arrival record which you can request by calling NARA (national archives)toll free, in Waltham Massachusetts (NY telphone is 866-840-1752) ansd see if you can ask somebody to check the 1906-1920 index for passenger arrivals for you. iIf not ask to have them send the form to you but there is a charge for obtaining the record?? ($15-25). Its the same for NYC

So go to your public library and ask them for their access to ancestry.com since that is a paying website. Perhaps somebody here can get the information for you. This is the best I can do you! =Peter=

if you do not find the manifest ship on internet you can use naft 81 form

http://www.archives.gov/forms/pdf/natf-81.pdf

or you can order on line

https://eservices.archives.gov/orderonl ... chives.gov

I hope it helps
