Cantale out of Tortorici Sicily

Post by radar2870 »

Great Grandfather Sebastiano Cantale immigrated to Ohio from Tortorici Sicily in 1903. He was born in 1864 died sometime after 1930. Looking for other decendents or information on any siblings. Grandpa spoke of a brother, but I am not sure of his name. Other family members have said that Sebastian made cheese mainly string cheese and was the richest cheese maker from OH to NY. Then his brother talked him into turning his cheese factory into a Pepsi plant, and that endever didn't go so well and they went bankrupt. I have been unsucessful so far in finding informantion on both a cheese factory or a pepsi plant in or around Akron OH. Between the years of 1910 and 1930. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Signed a greatful Grandaughter yearning to know more about her family.

My grandparents were Silvestro Cantale and Marianna (Graffagnino), born in Troina. Most of my closest relatives are in NJ. I am looking for the Ohio connection. My aunt told me there is a connection, but we are stuck. My grandfather's parents were Antonino Cantale and Rosa L'Episcopo (sp?). I think the connection might be if Antonino had any brothers and sisters. I do not have that information.
