SS Rex Manifest

Post by Frank57 »

I am having trouble finding any documentation on my fathers arrival on I believe to be the SS Rex's final voyage in 1940 to New York. Can someone help find his name on the manifest. His 80th birthday is coming up and I am sure he would love to see any record. Thank-you.

Possible Record:

New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957

Name: Domenico Tatino
Arrival Date: 15 Feb 1940
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1929
Age: 11
Gender: Male
Port of Departure: Naples, Italy
Ethnicity/Race-
/Nationality: Italian
Ship Name: Rex
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Nativity: Italy
Line: 24
Microfilm Serial: T715
Microfilm Roll: T715_6443
Birth Location: Italy
Birth Location Other: gioiosa inica
Page Number: 68
Friend's Name: Francesco

Further detail: Traveling with sisters Clementina age 13,
Esterina age 6, leaving Aunt Marianna Lucca in Gioiosa Ionica.....
joining father Francesco at 4105 99th Street, Corona, New York.

The name on the manifest is clearly Totino.....you can see where the A has been crossed out and the O placed above.

If this is the correct manifest we can link the images.

Hi, I am also having difficulty locating the documents of my grandfather travelling on the SS Rex to Ellis Island in 1934. There is no documentation of this trip when he was 12 years old on the ellis island web site as far as I can tell. His name is Salvatore Teti. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me.

tmtaylo; I'm too new to this site to know how to send info. But I know my way around ancestry.com. Your g-f came in 1934 on the Rex with Pierno age 10, Maria age 8 and Anna age 20. I'll try to figure out how to send the manifest. Sorry,
