Licciardello, Sorbello, Raciti, Caltabiano, Privatera-Giarre

Hello,
I am looking for any information at all about these families. I am researching from Australia, and finding it impossible to get any information easily. I have this information so far...
Angelo Licciardello (17/2/1893 Giarre, d 17/11/1975 Giarre) married Rosa Raciti (1/4/1901 Giarre, d 5/7/1966 Giarre).
Angelo's parents were Sebastiano Licciardello and Santa Sorbello (1869-1957).
Rosa's parents were Guiseppe Raciti (b1866)and Alfia Caltabiano (b1877, d1943). Guiseppe died young leaving Alfia with 2 small daughters, Rosa & Filippa. Filippa Raciti married Rosario Licciardello, older brother to Angelo.
Guiseppe Raciti was the younger son of Pasquale Raciti and Filippa Privatera. He had a brother, Isidoro Raciti. Alfia Raciti remarried - Rosario Sgroi and they had Maria, Sebastiana, Rosaria, Alfio, Guiseppina & Carmela Sgroi.
Sebastiano Licciardello and Santa Sorbello had 6 children -
Rosario Licciardello (m Filippa Raciti)
Angelo Licciardello (1893-1975) m Rosa Raciti
Orazio Licciardello
Vito Licciardello
Concetta Licciardello
Grazia Licciardello

Rosario Licciardello and Filippa Raciti went to Argentina.
Angelo Licciardello came to Australia with his brother Orazio in the mid/late 1920s...Angelo returning to wife Rosa and young family, and had 3 more sons from 1934 -1937.
Their father Sebastiano had been previously married and left a widower before marrying Santa Sorbello - he had 6 children with his first wife - I only have the names of the younger 2 children - Enna Licciardello and Mariano Licciardello. I would be grateful for any help and guidance here.

Have you checked the Lds for microfilmed records for the town of origin, or sent any record request to Giarre?

I have checked some LDS records online...not had much luck there. How can I send a record request to Giarre? How is that able to be done?

The following is an interactive form letter which is sent to the Stato Civile:

Since you have the dates of birth, along with the names of both parents, obtaining records should be a snap!!

I do not recommend sending any money unless it is requested by the office,
some comunes do charge a small fee and others don't.

For the Lds, not all records are available online. However, they have microfilmed your town of origin:

Giarre

The proper way of obtaining microfilm from a Family History Center
1. You go to www.familysearch.org

2. Click on the tab on the top right called Library

3. Click on the words Family History Library Catalog

4. Click on the words Place Search and type in the town you are looking for. Then click the word search.

5. A list of the results will show up. (an example: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

6. Click on the link you are looking for such a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Vital Records. A new page will appear where it will show all the films for Vital Records

7. Click on the link you want such as Death Registries.

8. Click on View Film Notes and a list of the microfilm numbers will appear.

9. Click at the bottom of the page, For a printable copy, click hereand you will get a form to print out with all the film numbers.

10. Click print.



Ordering Microfilm

1. Now the FHC does not have all the microfilm in their possession.

2. You have to order the microfilm which takes 3-4 weeks for it to arrive.

3. It costs about $5.75 a roll for 30 days of viewing time.

4. If you need to renew the microfilm, it cost about $5.50 for another 60 days.

5. If you need to renew it after the 60 days, it will cost another $5.50 and the films can be kept on an indefinite bases.

6. Microfilm must be viewed at the FHC.

7. Copies are $0.35 a page.

Thank you so much for your assistance here. I've already printed off some letters. I have also discovered there is an FHC facility close (I hadn't realised there were any in Australia) so will take advantage of that. Any advice on finding records of birth if you only know the name of the father? Sebastiano Licciardello had been married prior to marrying Santa Sorbello and he had 6 children with his previous wife. I only know the names of the youngest 2...would the names of all 12 children be on his death certificate as they are here?

The names of the kids will be in the Foglio di Famiglia or in the Certificato Storico di Famiglia kept at Giarre civil record office
