Last week my mother advised me of a box of old photos she had from her parents and her aunt, that had no indications of who they were. With the help of my cousin Frank Rosaio and his family, we've been able to identify many of the people found in the photos. However, there is one that was taken back in Italy, and the studio marking indicates "Acqui". Frank has been trying to determine which relatives the photo might be, based on the location of the studio where the photo was taken (a very logical method). However I wanted to put this current mystery out on the table here for others to chime in on suggestions as to how to determine who the people are. We believe them to be my Piuma ancestors, but not 100% sure about that. I can post the actual pic tonight from home.
Just when you think it's bad enough that you have names with no pics, you end up with pics with no names!! As my friend's Sicilian mother likes to say, "saddamabetchette!"

I just realized I did have a copy of the picture on my flash drive, so here it is for all to enjoy.

Re: how to identify a picture with no names?
Thanks pink,
I know that my mother's mother's family was piemontèse,
so now I have to wonder if that pic is from my Piuma ancestors,
or if it's actually from the Ghione/Reggio family that my maternal
grandmother is from. So much to ponder on!

Re: how to identify a picture with no names?
Hi Jim.......I have the same problem about family photo's from Italy......and I'm the only living family member that has ever seen these pictures......As your family, mine is also from Piedimonte (Caserta).......I was told to look on e-bay and type in Caserta Italy & all catagories to see (you never know) that a family picture will turn up for sale with family members that I do know.....Good Luck...Sal4
Looking for surnames Iasalvatore (Salvatore), Tartaglia, Rosetta, Consola, Di Muccio, Castellano, Montanaro, Dipaolo, Costa, Sansone, Giudicianni and Laudato.

I do not see a resemblance between myself and him, elizabethvitale wrote:Do you look like him?
but my mother's brother has some similarity to him.
Are you trying to nail down if they're a family member
vs a friend of the family?

no, just wondered if there was a resemblance. There is a picture on Ellis Island closely resenbles my father by facial features. I would think there was relation because of it.
