Josephine Gentile mafia crossfire NY Daily news 1920's

Hi All,
Very interesting website! I am looking for information on my Great Aunt
Josephine, daughter of Angelina and Nicola, who resided on Mott St. in the early 1900's, with my grandfather Frank and 7 other siblings.

Josephine was the innocent victim caught in Mafia crossfire in the 1920's in lower Manhattan. Supposedly her picture was included in a photo taken by the Daily News.

I have always been fascinated by this tidbit of family lore!

Can anyone share any information about this or suggest how I might see an archive photo?

I am still in awe, (as is all of my family)!, that you were able to provide us with the information on this story!

After following additional archive links in the NYT's, I did find out that their murderer was eventually sentenced and jailed in Italy.
