Ferraro - Grotteria

Post by johnlf »

Looking to get any information I can about my grandparents and any other relatives who may still be living in Grotteria.

My grandfather's name was Guiseppe Ferraro and he was born in 1869. I do not know when he died.

MY father, Giovanni, was born in 1899, in Grotteria, had a sister, Lucia

Is this your father?

Sister named is Lucrezia Ferraro, father Giuseppe. I am also researching the Ferraro name and am not sure if my Ferraro's were from Grotteria. Will look around some and see if I can come up with anything.

Giovanni also may have had a brother Nicodemo born about 1895. Not sure if I have a copy of the birth act on file at the family history for this year. Will have a look the next time I go.

Nuccia,

Thank you. This is my father and my Aunt. I have to do some more digging with some cousins to find out when she came here.
'
I'm not sure about a brother. I found out that he had another sister, who stayed in Grotterria.

Thank you again.

I appreciate the help.

No problem..but I messed up. This is Nicodemo's ship manifest for you to look over...

Possible first trip (interesting manifest because although it doesn't give the name of the parents, it does give an address of where the parents lived.

http://www.ellisisland.org/search/shipM ... 970551.TIF

Second Trip and the one I think is a possible brother to Giovanni and Lucrezia

http://www.ellisisland.org/search/shipM ... 690036.TIF

Keep in mind they all went to Mass as well and this manifest clearly states Nicodemo's father is Giuseppe and he is going to see his brother in Mass. Ferraro.

I will also keep looking. Please let me know how you are progressing with this.
