Surname help - Solatieri

Post by dgreen99 »

I'm researching great-great-grandparents in Ferrazzano (Molise) and am running into many dead ends on this surname. The mother's name on my great-grandfather's birth record is Rosa Solatieri. On his Social Security application he listed her name as Rosa Solidiera. I cannot find references to this name (or variations) in civil records (LDS) or online (in Ferrazzano specifically or in general).

I greatly appreciate any ideas/suggestions.

Thanks, David

Hi, the surname spelling (Solatieri/Solidiera) is wrong... In Campobasso area exist SPIDALIERI surname... maybe Solitieri/Solidiera was not her birth surname, but the husband surname ... you can provide some other details abt your Rosa?

Here's an excerpt with her name from the birth record. The father's name is Dominic Reale. At this time I have no other details about her, other than my great-grandfather referred to her as "Rosa Solidiera" on his Social Security application.

I cannot see the image of birth record.... however if the fater surname was Reale, her birth surname must be Reale.. right?

I'm so sorry, I don't understand why the image isn't appearing in the post.

Try viewing it directly at this link:

This is an excerpt from the birth record of Carmine Reale, parents are Dominic Reale and Rosa.

Thank you.

ok, I understood... Domenico reale was the husband of Rosa Solatieri... the surname is a strange surname... I believe you must search in Atti Diversi or only Diversi in Ferrazzano microfims by Mormons... because when a surname is so rare.. it could be in Atti Diversi birth records.. also you can search in Pubblicazioni ( marriage banner) because by Pubblicazioni you can find more infos abt Rosa Solatieri marriage and heritage....
best regards,
