Zarello Family

Post by dzarello »

I am looking for any information about the Zarello surname and any family history. I, unfortunately, have to rely on internet forums and websites to find my information because my sister and I are the last ones left.

If anyone has ANY information, it really would be appreciated. The people I am most interested in is; Joseph Francis Zarello, Jr. (born 1/31/33 died 1989), Joseph Francis Zarello, Sr. (born 1899 died 1974), and Vincenzo Zarello (born 1867 died ?)

From the SSDI:

Social Security Death Index
about Joseph F. Zarello

SSN: xxxxxxxxxxx
Born: 31 Jan 1933

sending an obituary for you to confirm, I'd rather not place it in the forum as it does contain names of those living.

I would like to thank you guys for your help. I should have mentioned that I am a member at Ancestry.com and do have some of the listed info., but I really do appreciate all of the help. Some of the items listed, I do not think I would have ever found on my own. Now I know when my great-great grandfather Vincenzo petitioned for Naturalization, when he was married and where he lived. I did know that he was a barber. I am just so excited with all of this new information, I am almost in tears. Thank you again for all of your help. :D

This is another issue that I keep running into. The birth dates for Joseph are different. How do I determine which is correct? I would assume that the date on the Draft Registration Card would be the correct date.

Where would I look to find Vincenzo on the ship's registry? I have searched Ellis Island and Castle Garden. No luck. The ships name is the Alesia. It left Naples March 24th, 1892 and arrived April 19th, 1892.

Can't find it either...
It wouldn't be unusual if the date was incorrect.
We've even seen naturalization papers off by several years :? .

The date on Joseph's records would be what his parents' told him - if they didn't have his birth certificate.

Have you ordered his Social Security Application?
It will have his birth location.
His birth date on this record probably had some type of documentation.
