Bussotti Family

Post by frantastik »

Hello,
How can I find information about my father's family? I know that he, Carlo Bussotti was born in Florence in 1922 to Gino and Bianca Bussotti and that he had two siblings Giuliana and Gigliola. Other than this I know nothing about any of my ancestors and I am very curious. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you! I had found this as well but what I was hoping for was to find out who Giuliana and Carlo's grandparents were. So where did Gino Bussotti and Bianca come from? The heritage of Giuliana's husband Gian Carlo can be traced to the 1400's as they are direct decendants of very well known families. Thank you anyway for your efforts and please let me know if find out anything about the Bussotti lineage. Have a great day

Well, as you know Carlo Bussotti's birth date you can write to the Comune of Florence and ask for his "copia integrale dell'atto di nascita" were you can find also his parents names and ages...

You can find here the address:

http://www.comune.fi.it/opencms/export/ ... rafici.htm

From http://stevemorse.org/ssdi/ssdi.html

Name CARLO BUSSOTTI
Birth 01 Jan 1922
Death 06 Nov 2002 (V)
Last Residence 94109 (San Francisco, San Francisco, CA)
Last Benefit (none specified)
SSN XXXXXXXX
Issued New York

Here you can find form letters in italian:

http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... /index.asp

There is a free site you can check to find Baptism records for child born in the town of Florence from 1450 to 1900 (until 1935 all the child born in Florence were baptized in the Battistero di San Giovanni):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florence_Baptistry

Here is the link to the Baptism Archives:
http://www.operaduomo.firenze.it/battes ... _carte.asp

I checked the archives and found four Gino Bussotti (baptized from 1880 to 1900, birth years: 1880-1891-1894-1899)... You'll need to ask for Carlo's birth act and read his father age to determine which is the right one...
On the birth act you'll find also Carlo's mother maiden name and then you can check her baptism record too...

Tell me if you need other help...

Hello!
If you don't have his mother's maiden name, it will also be on your father's SS Application
Valarie

Social Security Application SS-5

His SS# is available here if you don’t already have it:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/ ... _form=true

About the SS Application:
http://genealogy.about.com/od/online_re ... equest.htm
The SS-5, or Application for Social Security Number is a great resource for learning more about individuals who died after about 1960, and generally includes the following:
- Full name
- Full name at birth, including maiden name
- Present mailing address
- Age at last birthday
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Father's full name
- Mother's full name, including maiden name
- Sex
- Race as indicated by the applicant
- Whether the applicant ever applied for Social Security or Railroad Retirement before
- Current employer's name and address
- Date signed
- Applicant's signature
Order form SSA-711 (can be done online):
http://www.ssa.gov/foia/html/foia_guide.htm

Mi dispiace Laura che non capisco. Cosa vuol dire "PM?" Ciao! Spero che passi una belissima giornata.
