Re: Italian Dual Citizenship Maternal GGM -1948 Judicial Procedure
I was on a break from the Italian citizenship boards to preserve my sanity.
Hi and thanks @JTSD20! I can relate to the above…
Sorry to hear about your court delay- I hear that is happening a lot with cases.
Are you still content with using ICA?
Are you able to share the list of records ...

Re: New 1948 Case Law
It was the first one that came up in a Google search when I was looking around in 2020, and seemed to be the largest. Also, their youtube videos with their primary lawyer (Marco Permunian) conveyed a significant degree of competence / experience.
Thank you. I agree, Marco Permunian does convey ...

Re: NYC Naturalization docs
Thank you Annetta. We searched FamilySearch and Ancestry and didn’t find anything so we weren’t sure if someone with more search experience and/or access to Fold3 was able to find anything that we could not. Also, since NARA is in the process of transferring their Naturalization records to ...

NYC Naturalization docs
Hi Folks.
Giuseppe Rienzi (b. 1875 in Italy)
Immigrated to NYC about mid-1890s?
1925 NY Census says he naturalized in Kings County (NY) in 1905.
FYI- Some census years misspelled his name (Renzi).
A different census says he naturalized in 1900.
Is anyone able to locate his Naturalization docs ...

Re: How to obtain birth and marriage from New York?
The New York County Clerk won't authenticate the birth certificate without the letter of exemplification. And without the County Clerk's authentication, you can't get an apostille from New York Department of State.

Anyone know where the NY County Clerk is located in order to take or ...

Re: Italian Dual Citizenship Maternal GGM -1948 Judicial Procedure
Hi there!
I signed a contract with Italian Citizenship Assistance. They’ve been absolutely wonderful. They have a youtube channel with the same name if you’d like more info about them. My case worker was able to correct an error that I made that could have set me back an entire year. We are ...

For anyone who posted here who has a 1948 case, or those who have yet to post- would you provide updates please. Approved, declined, still in process?

Re: Help Translating Marriage and Death Certificates
Thanks T! Sad that even if someone was 85, that no one knew her full name.
I had looked at death acts for Ruggiero prior to Catarina’s second marriage but the Antenati only goes back to 1807 for Stigliano death acts, and I didn’t find him in those years.
On Catarina’s marriage, would you please ...

Re: Help Translating Marriage and Death Certificates
Thanks again T, you’re the best!
Is the correct spelling “Caterina”? And “Pizzo”
Also, are you able to determine if her parents were still living at the time of her marriage and her death (so I can better estimate which records to look at for the parents.)

Help Translating Marriage and Death Certificates
Hello. Is someone able to confirm dates/names on these Certificates please? I attached the Marriage and Death certificates of Catarina Pizzo (sp?) to help (but both are water damaged and not clear. Her birth certificate is even worse so I did not attach.)

Re: Help determining facts including names on certificates.
Thanks so much T! I had never heard of or seen the name “Tecla” in any of my records research, so thanks for clarifying about the name. (I had “Florio” for the last name - so many issues trying to read the letters!)
Grazia’s last name was another issue for me. I was close to your interpretation. (I ...
