Pippo, you are correct! Last night, I found the ship manifest for him, his mother and three siblings who traveled together in 1920 and his father's who traveled by himself in 1913 and they all say "Lioni", which does indeed appear in Google Maps. Thanks everyone for your help!

Leone, Italy?
My Great Uncle's obituary states that he was born in Leone, Italy but when I looked it up on Google Maps, no such location came up. Any clues to where it could be?

I saw that record. The dates match but it can't be him. He was living with his brother Frank in St. Louis, Missouri in 1930 while mine was in Plainfield, New Jersey at the same time according to the 1930 U.S. Census.

Thanks for the tips Valarie! I did use the first link you supplied and found 3 Stampone's still living in Montazzoli! I'll have to contact them and see where it leads.
