I don't know of any restoration software, but you could try copying it to Word and playing with corrections, colors, etc. in Picture Formats - or use other such software.
I've had some success creating negative images which were more readable.

too techy for me. problem is this is a copy of a copy. the original would have been easier to work with. but thats in the parish books. a copy was sent to me as an attachment. so this is 3rd generation. the original had the original ink. out of my hands. need a proffessional.

Depending on where you live, look for a photo lab/processing store. For example, here in Columbus we have McAlister Photo works (https://www.mcalisterphotoworks.com/) and they can take your document, scan it, and then digitally enhance it and provide you with the "best possible" rendering. They have both computer/digital equipment, but they also have what must look like the CIA Photo Lab in the back, with all kinds of machines you would have seen in the old days. If you don't have such a place near you, maybe you can reach out to McAlister's and make some sort of arrangements to provide them the document(s) in need of enhancement.mezzogiorno62 wrote: 12 Jan 2023, 21:04 too techy for me. problem is this is a copy of a copy. the original would have been easier to work with. but thats in the parish books. a copy was sent to me as an attachment. so this is 3rd generation. the original had the original ink. out of my hands. need a proffessional.
Good luck!
