Hi Forum,
Looking to draw out any knowledge which may exist of ties of the Ciolfi, di Palma and Battista families of Civitanova del Sannio IS, to those in Castropignano; Oratino; Casalciprano CB.
Can anyone invest any time and thoughts on the following statement I made elsewhere on this query. Does anyone of either these areas of Molise (as once was) have any evidence directly linking any particular family line of any of these surnames.

My family at core is from Castropignano CB but, genealogy and DNA have given evidence to ties to relations in Civitanova del Sannio [the focus but, also in other areas of Isernia].
I have great grandparents identified several generations back in Castropignano, that I believe to be those connecting me to descendants of Civitanova dS families. Namely, the primary I suspect, > di Palma <, >Battista<, and >Ciolfi<, with some minor considerations to Mancini and Iorio surnames.
I started working on a family line, tied to me but not quite identified as to which older ancestor it may be. This family is Palazzo / Gargaro [ husband/wife] here in Toronto where I live ~ (also a Battista cousin from born in Castropignano who married into the Palazzo family of Civitanova, one I'm trying to identify his parents of her husband Felice Palazzo).
The DNA aspect directly ties me to the Gargaro side of the Palazzo family, but of course there are knotted ties in this commune between the couple including the Palma/Battista and Ciolfi family of this area.

The DNA link leans heavily to my maternal side which includes those families in question but, it's not excluding some paternal ties given the fact that my parents were 6th cousins to each other.
Cheers to all, John

DNA is great when you have a 'brick wall' or a foundling ancestor but if you are using it because there are no on line records to search then you are looking for a needle in a haystack. Start with a solid person and follow the trail.
