I’m researching a family in San Giorgio a Liri.
Right hand side entry 13 and 43
I see Di Ruzza but have noticed it is transcribed as Di Russa, Russa and Russo on ancestry web sites.
And it may have changed over time to that.
But in this index, may i have someone else’s opinion?
Thanks
James
Di Ruzza or Di Russa
Re: Di Ruzza or Di Russa
For both entry 13 and 43 I am reading Ruzza (without "di")
But it is clearly di Ruzza in the record

Thanks Tessa!
Here is another index with the same surname

Both (Di) Ruzza but the Z’s are totally different

Re: Di Ruzza or Di Russa
Yes, both surnames are Ruzza.
The formation of the "z" is different, but not unusual.
This Italian Script Handwriting chart can help.
Notice that there are actually 12 "forms" found in old Italian records that represent the lowercase letter "z"
