Another Marineo marriage; Francesco Arnone and Grazia Profida

Post by cj11788 »

Hello,

Below is the link for the 1835 marriage for Francesco Arnone and Grazia Profida.

Page 821 -
Looks like the birth for Francesco Arnone. Looks like his name is Francesco Nicolo Mariano which is new to me. Are the last two lines the witnesses? Last line almost looks like Soro?

Page 822 -
Looks like the birth for Grazia Profida. Same with the last two lines. Are they witnesses? Looks like Giuseppe Profida and Rosa Profida. Does it mention if they are related?

Page 823 -
Looks like the death for Francesco's mother, Francesco Giordano. Any thoughts on the hand written information at the bottom of the page.

Page 824-825 -
Anything interesting on 824? I see the family names mentioned alot also on 825.

Page 830 831-
Looks like the notification. Anything in the handwritten info on 830 and the left page of 831?

Page 831 right side -
Anything in the handwritten info? Who is Domenico Dorerrolo? I know it's a part of Francesco's marriage because I see their name at the bottom of the page.

If you mean you never found him mentioned as Nicola or Mariano, that is usual. Names after the first were given for some sort of devotion or gratitude, but were not actually used. The last two lines are about the godparents, Francesco and Concetta Ficarrotta, "frater et soror" =siblings

They are godparents, and nothing is said about their relation

it's a usual sentence about the fact that the Registrar and declarants went to the place where the deceased was, to check if she had actually passed away

P. 831 right side

Domenico was the last of the 4 witnesses (testimonio). The first two were sacerdoti- the word in front of those is singular-sacerdote for priest.

Thank you Erudita.

Interesting that two of the witnesses were priests. I also noticed that Giuseppe who was the last person was the mayor. I guess the Arnone family were a known family at that time.

On a side note, you helped me with the marriage of Paolino Arnone on Sept 13, also from Marineo where there were five individuals but they were for the family council. Is the family councel the same thing as the wittnesses?

Thanks again

I could not post it before because of a system error:

That's the list of "allegati" documents

Page 831 right side -
Anything in the handwritten info? Who is Domenico Dorerrolo? I know it's a part of Francesco's marriage because I see their name at the bottom of the page.
That says that the (original) document was signed by the groom and testimonies, but not by the bride, who was illiterate; then, the list of testimonies: the priest Carlo Buongiorno, the priest Giuseppe Ficarrotta, "master" Francesco Delisi, "master" Domenico can'treadit
