latin translation

Post by stfrancis »

Hi everyone
Maybe someone can help with a more accurate translation of this extract from a promise to marry- free state document in 1762:

For example I read something like

..... ....... uquo habuant uxor deseassent à Casole Afragola, fit miles.....casatate sine religione ant fede matrisoli cui dedent et sub qua Parochia de Cat'l......

Thank you

see image in separate post (as I could not post the image in in the same post....)

similarily, in this extract of the same document, I pretty much understand, except I cannot decipher the 7th line, from where it seems to be written....

I appreciate any help

(see the next post, again this site isn't allowing me to post images with my post!, also problems logging in....)

It’s not Latin, it’s Italian!
Could you please post the full document and tell us where it comes from, as well as the names of the places and people it refers to?

and the other one, from short-handed Latin:
An unquam habuerit uxorem, discesserit a Casali Afragola, sit miles, voverit castitatem sive religionem, aut fidem matrimonii alicui dederit, et sub qua parochia degat.

I have others which can be challenging. I will post some pages after my last attempts, the complete documents I don't have yet, and they are big.

I figured it out :
