Re: Searching for The Corneto Family
Hi and welcome to the forum,
You might want to start your own thread on Montaperto so as not to get confused with Anthony's. However, we did find this record
It lists Concetta as the sister of Letterio Cornato and the wife of Giovanni Montaperto. This Giovanni came to the US in 1900. Only you can know if this is your relative. If you think it is, let us know.

Have you looked at Ellis Island records at all? If your grandparents were born here, then their parents were the immigrants. Here is the only Corneto which seems to be a possibility. What do you think?

I am trying to get some info on my grandfather and his family as he was always very cagey about his past, he always told my mum and uncle to never ask about sicily and his past, he also said that if they went to sicily they'd get killed.
didi you guys discover anything about giovanni montaperto?

thanks

Re: Searching for The Corneto Family
My name is Xavier Armangué Caralps. I'm a catalan lawyer living in Barcelona. I'm married to Paola Jubert di Montaperto, and my mother-in-law is (I transcribe her complete name and titles) donna Annabella di Montperto Uberti dei duchi de Santa Elisabetta e dei principi di Raffadali.
I have plenty of information of her/your family. I presume your are the daugther of Elisabetta Montaperto in Montesi Righetti. There are two main lines: the one which retains most of the titles, most of whom live in Palerm, though descending from Antonia Montaperto illegitimate-born girl, daughter of Bernardo, late in the XIX century (that is the reason why they are know named Tortorici Montaperto). The current princess widow of Raffadali offered us a dinner, three years ago in her home, the Palazzo Speciale-Raffadali, where we met her and her husband (Giovanni Tortorici Montaperto, prince of Raffadali, etc.) who died last year).
The second line, named Montaperto, divides into two lines, the main one of which is yours.
