Per the following link, the death records for the comune of Racalmuto, Agrigento, Sicily for the years 1847-1850 are missing - http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... uto/Morti/
Does anyone know any other sources where these records can be found? Years ago, I found manual records on the Mormon website detailing the 1850 date of death for two family members (Vincenza Alfano died 15 November 1850, and Carmela Natale died 16 July 1850). Unfortunately, those records did not give the parents of the deceased. I'm wondering how did the Mormons get those dates of death.

The Mormons microfilmed records at the State Archives. The records on the antenati site are from the State Archives. Either they forgot to upload those years or they were destroyed somehow (earthquake) in the years between.

Those records may have been found in the Diverso records from a different year. Or maybe they were from a different comune's records, but the place of death happened to be Racalmuto.

Does this mean that anything that isn't on Antenati doesn't exist?Italysearcher wrote: 22 Aug 2017, 11:08 The Mormons microfilmed records at the State Archives. It may be that these records were lost from the courthouse's duplicate copies that are the source of the State Archive's records (which are what you see on Antenati). The comune may still have a copy, though. For example, for Ribera, there are no records for 1820 at the State Archives, but I have copies of these records that were photographed from the comune's records. I have many collections of records that are missing from the records of the Sciacca Tribunale (the courthouse where Ribera's records were housed) and from indexes of civil records from the comune I can even see some birth records at the end of some years that never made it into the tribunale's records at all, even though the tribunale did have birth records for that year and an index.

My primary family line is in the City of Messina, which was devastated by the 1908 Earthquake. Still, there is a surprising amount of records online. Some are clearly missing, but I've found evidence of them on different indices. So I'm wondering if they are somewhere else.
Are the post 1866 records in the same place as the pre-1866 records?
Re: 1847-1850 Death Records Missing
Not necessarily. The pre-1866 (or pre-1862 in some places) records were transferred to the State Archives, but the post-1866 records may still be at the courthouse.datxcali wrote: 28 Aug 2017, 06:37 Are the post 1866 records in the same place as the pre-1866 records?
