After searching the Catasto Onciario an church records, where do I go from here. I can't get beyond 1720's. Any advice?
Thanks, Steve

Re: Ruggiero of Monteleone di Puglia
Usually church records, if any, start from 1545
there is nothing before that date
I hope it helps
bye Riccardo

Thanks Riccardo,
I was told the Church records at San Giovanni Battista only go back to 1720's. I have no clue as to what to do now.

Well, if the records of that church go back until 1720, there is nothing else you can do.
I hope it helps

Re: Ruggiero of Monteleone di Puglia
Hello. Just stumbling about here as I found the site just today. Searched, of course, for Ruggerio and Puglia and this thread came up.
I am Canadian. My grandfather came from Italy as a boy, a young man, I guess, in 1912. He was born in Puglia as a Ruggiero around 1895. I don't know his fathers name. His mother was a Taggio.
There aren't many Ruggiero, in fact none remaining, in Monteleone. I know it is a fairly common name though.
