Italian Military Records Help

Post by SteveDi »

I am trying to find out information on a couple of family members that served in the Italian military. I tried ancestry and numerous google searches and didn't find much. I stumbled on this site during my searches and thought I'd give it a shot. Any info or direction is appreciated.

1) Salvatore Porreca 1893-1967, he was born in Torricella Peligna. I was told he was in the Alpini in WW1 and was captured at the Battle of Caporetto.
2) Mariano Porreca 1900-1937, also from Torricella Peligna. He was killed in action in Spain.

I was hoping to find maybe what units they were in and any other info.
