Citizenship -- Los Angeles

Post by dominic1000 »

I received an email message on February 13th from the consulate in Los Angeles informing me that my Italian citizenship has been approved. I made my initial appointment around April 13, 2011, so the process took about 10 months. I have an appointment next week to apply for my passport. It is my understanding that after my appointment I will get my passport within 2-3 weeks. I am so excited.

Please let me know what my sister needs to provide for her application for citizenship since I am now recognized as an Italian citizen. I received citizenship "through" my grandfather.

Thank you for all your help.

I'm in Los Angeles and would love to pursue Italian citizenship. All 4 of my grandparents were from Italy. How do you start the process, and what do you need? Is it costly?
