Ciao Luigi, Benvenuto

Salerno is a very common name in America. Do you have names of the immigrants or a date when they came?

:D
Tanks for your answer. I stay in Rossano, but my family descend from a little lands of CALABRIA. The lands are LONGOBUCCO or CALOVETO or BOCCHIGLIERO or PIETRAPAOLA.
Now in America there are a lot of my family tie, but I don't know their andress and country.
I hope to find them in order that I come in America.
The father of my father ( my grandfather) is born in 24 january 1912 in CALOVETO and he was an Italian Soldier in the 2°World War. He was prisonner of Nazists for 2 year, but he escaped from Germany and is come back at Home. He was machine-gunner. He died in 18 December 1994. His wife is my grandmother. Her name is CHIARELLI LINA OLGA.She is born in 3 December 1922 in PIETRAPAOLA. I know that a brother of my granfather, went in America. Is name was Gennaro Salerno. I know only this.

Sorry for my orrible english and thanks for help me.

Luigi Salerno.

Hi,
the name of my "bisnonno" was Antonio Salerno like my father!
His wife was Maria Paletta.
The father of the mother of my father ( my grand mother) was Director of Orchestra in Chicago. His name was Chiarelli Giuseppe.
I know that probably Fat Tony was my relative.
Maybe was a cousin of my father because the father of Fat Tony was a brother of my grandfather Luigi.
I am not sure!
However I continue to do research of my ancestors.
Thanks for any help.
thanks again

Hello,

I just saw your message and a friend of mine from New Jersey has the last name Salerno so I forwarded it to her to see if there might be a connection for you.

I was wondering if you could give me a little help. My husbands great grandfather came from Longo Bardi / Calabria. Can you help me with these locations, are they part of each other or near each other?

Also if you could maybe let me know where I can write or research (church or courts) for records. I'm researching the Sicari family from this area.

Thanks so much,
Jackie
